TradeFlow Advisory was founded on one observation: most NZ and Australian importers have never had an independent person look at their freight costs.

Their freight forwarder manages everything — and does a capable operational job. But the forwarder earns margin on the rates they book. That structural conflict doesn't make forwarders dishonest. It just means their financial interest and your financial interest are not identical.

We sit on the other side of that equation. We have no freight to sell, no carrier to protect, and no margin earned on rates. Our only income comes from a share of the savings we verify on your behalf.

The principal of TradeFlow Advisory has 30+ years of direct freight experience across FCL ocean, LCL ocean, and airfreight in the Asia–Pacific region. That experience includes carrier-side rate structures, forwarder margin models, and the specific surcharge mechanisms — GRIs, FSC, W/M calculations — where above-market charges most commonly appear.

We know what freight should cost because we have spent three decades on both sides of the negotiation.

We are not affiliated with any freight carrier, freight forwarder, customs broker, or logistics provider. We do not receive commissions, rebates, or referral fees from any carrier or intermediary. Our income is a retainer and a share of verified savings — nothing else.
